As mentioned in the Summer Newsletter, the Council was successful in securing a Queen’s 90th Birthday grant, from Chichester District Council, to help erect an interpretation panel about the flora and fauna on Bepton Down (which is a designated SSSI and an area of Open Access). The initiative for the panel came from  Simon Verrall, Chairman of the Bepton Down Conservation Group, who also designed and oversaw its production .

 The panel will be unveiled on 13th July at 6.45pm by Her Majesty’s representative, Deputy Lieutenant Neil Hart, who is a local Bepton resident. The sign will be erected near the T-junction at Bugshill Lane and Bell Lane, close to the start of the restricted byway. This is where the unveiling will take place.
