Locals may remember that last year, Bridget & Carl Davies of Bepton were ‘forced off the road’ in Bell Lane by cyclists taking part in a major cycle event which went through Bepton. A link to the article in the Midhurst & Petworth Observer is here. A similar cycle event will go through Bepton on Sunday 2nd October 2016.

The Parish Council has been notified of this event by the organisers, UK Cycling Events. They organised last year’s event. According to their plan 850 cyclists will be coming through Bepton. The Parish Council has written to UK Cycling Events seeking reassurance that there will be sufficient warning signs and that cyclists will behave appropriately to show consideration to other road users, which include cars, walkers, and children cycling.
